ACES Mission
ACES' mission is to help our clients navigate through the complex universe of environmental regulations and provide guidance, advice and services through a variety of methods and strategies. We work for our clients to declutter the confusion and keep them aligned to successfully complete the project and achieve their goals.

Tim Hodge
Owner / CESSWI / FAA Certified Remote Pilot
Tim brings a variety of talent and experience to the ACES Team. He grew up on the Elk River in Clay, WV and is a graduate from WVU with a BS in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources. After graduation he ventured to Alaska working for a nonprofit aquaculture association involved in multiple innovative remote projects throughout the Tongass National Rainforest region producing all five species of Pacific salmon for the local commercial fishing industry. He returned home to WV to work for Trout Unlimited and the USFWS on the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program installing freshwater resource enhancement projects on private farmlands throughout the state.
In 2011, he became one of the earliest Environmental Enforcement Inspectors with the WV Division of Environmental Protection in the infancy of the construction stormwater program. Without a definitive blueprint on how to implement the federal program administered by WV, he developed an effective system to manage a large inventory of projects across a 16-county area including NCWV and worked to bring conformity to the chaos of evolving issues. Although involved in a variety of Environmental Enforcement issues during his public service, he specialized in Construction Stormwater, Municipal Stormwater, and Emergency Spill Response.
Eventually he found his way serving private industry in 2016 working as the Environmental Services Manager for CRE, a small civil engineering firm in Morgantown. Here he was able to pull on his technical expertise and experience to hone his craft of making quality environmental compliance services and consultation accessible to all levels of the industry.
Recognizing the chronic impacts of clogging storm drain grates in the industry during critical phases of construction, he developed and patented an effective Storm Drain Grate Guard product now available for distribution (US Patent No. 11,008,748). He currently owns and operates Great Guard, LLC, a WV company from manufacturing to distribution.
Tim is a FAA Certified Remote Pilot for the commercial use of Unmanned Aircraft Vehicles (UAVs) and a Certified Erosion and Sediment Stormwater Inspector (CESSWI). As a business owner, Tim recognizes the importance of the bottom line and can quickly identify the most efficient path toward compliance regardless of the complexities of the situation you might find yourself in during the pre-construction, construction, or post-construction phases of your project.
